Called in your Singleness

When the Lord called me into His kingdom, I was 1 month shy of my 26th birthday: no husband, no kids. I knew that God had a plan and purpose for my life, but just didn't know the details. After beginning my journey with the Lord, He directed me toward ministry opportunities; what a joy it is to serve God in the place He has appointed me.

If I have all this contentment, why is everyone else focused on getting me married off? I have a wonderful job, counsel young women and attend graduate school--right now, a husband does not fit into my schedule. So I know you mean well, but please consult the Lord and His plans before you try to suggest a change in the course.

Much love,
Fathead

For the most part I personally don't believe that most mean any harm when they allude to you getting "married off". I think that it is something that has been infused in alot of us to believe that a female that has reached the age of 25yrs. and yet single triggers this, "We are going to get her hitched, because she can't possibly be happy being by her self". It's that we fail to remember that any person that is in the Kingdom of God are never alone. Finally, I also believe that there are some saints that would like for you to be married because of the great relationship they have with there spouse. Just a thought.
